Listen to what people say about your brand and your industry on social media and forums, from your agent
Your AI agent learns to read and search X, Reddit, YouTube, GitHub and web pages. You ask it "what are people saying about [my category] this week?" and it brings back a summary with links, without paying for a social listening tool.

What it costs
The installer is free and open source. You use the agent you already have (Claude Code or another compatible one); some platforms may require your own account to read.

ready to start
Do it with me, step by step
I will ask you 5 questions about your business, use your answers to get the prompt ready to copy, and then walk you through the 5 steps, one at a time. Like a Thermomix: you just answer and move on.
Who it is for
Marketing teams and founders who want to know what is being said about their brand, their competitors and their category, and today do not know because social listening tools cost as much as a salary.
The problem
Agents write and code, but if you ask them to look at Twitter or Reddit they go blind: paid APIs, blocks, logins. Social listening ends up being an expensive service or simply does not happen.
What changes
One question in plain language and a summary of the week's relevant conversations, with links to read the source. According to the README, Agent Reach solves the agent's access to several platforms in one go and maintains those integrations when they change.
Ingredients
- An agent that runs commands, such as Claude Code
- The list of terms to listen for: your brand, three competitors, two or three words from your category
- Half an hour
Step by step
- 1
Define what to listen for
Your brand and its variants, your direct competitors and the words people use to describe your product (not the ones you use). Ten terms maximum.
- 2
Install Agent Reach from the agent
According to the README, you just ask the agent to install Agent Reach following the repository's installation document. The agent does the rest and checks which platforms became accessible.
- 3
Ask the first question
"What are people saying on Reddit and X about [your category] in the last two weeks? Give me a summary with links". Check that the links exist and that the summary does not exaggerate.
- 4
Turn listening into a weekly routine
With the prompt from this recipe, the same request every Monday. Save the summaries: in two months you see trends, not just comments.
- 5
Take one finding to a decision
A repeated complaint about your category is a product or content opportunity. Pick one per month and act on it.
The prompt
Replace what is in brackets with your company details, or use the guided mode above: it asks you and fills it in for you.
# Role You are the social listening analyst for [BRAND NAME], which sells [WHAT IT SELLS] in Chile. You have access to read and search social media and forums through the connected tools. You report with links and without exaggerating. # Context Terms to listen for: [TERMS: BRAND, COMPETITORS AND CATEGORY WORDS]. Platforms: [PLATFORMS, FOR EXAMPLE "Reddit, X and YouTube"]. Period: [PERIOD, FOR EXAMPLE "last 15 days"]. # Task Search public conversations about those terms in the period, group them by topic and summarize what is being said, with the link for each source. Point out repeated complaints, repeated praise and unanswered questions we could answer with content. # Output format 1) Three main topics with two sentences each and links. 2) Table of repeated complaints and praise with an approximate count. 3) Three content ideas that answer real questions found. If a platform could not be read, say so. # Examples Expected finding: "Reddit r/chile: 4 threads ask where to buy used parts with a warranty; none mentions a brand. Idea: a post explaining how warranties work at salvage yards".
What usually goes wrong
- ✕Listening only for your brand. The value is in the category and the competition: that is where the needs nobody serves show up.
- ✕Trusting the summary without opening the links. Verify two or three every week.
- ✕Listening and not acting. A listening routine without decisions is entertainment.
When not to use this recipe
Not for extracting personal data or for getting around a platform's terms of use. It is for listening to public conversations about your industry, not for monitoring people.
